This Is The 'So Not Planned' Route Of My Solo Expedition Across Africa

Updated: Aug 2, 2023

THIS IS THE ‘SO NOT’ PLANNED ROUTE OF MY SOLO EXPEDITION THROUGH AFRICA!

Map 1: AFRICA -where I am traveling now.

Map 2: EUROPE -where I travelled (from January to April), countries are in sandy colour.

But let’s focus on Map 1: the planned route through Africa.

As explained many times on my previous account, and since the initial planned route of the Solo Expedition to Africa had to be drastically amended, it just confirmed how unpredictable life can be. And do you know what? It’s fine with me. As you could -already- notice it, challenges are my motivation.

So…I do not want to stick to a specific route. Planned routes don’t work out anyway and that’s the reason why I decided to stick to NO plan, NO route, NO expectations, and this unplanned itinerary IS going to work, at least. And I can tell you that I’ll stick to this one (it actually works very well so far!).

Seeking freedom and planning a route does not sound right to me. I want to take the risk to overland with my heart and to catch wisdom with my gut.

When you look closer at Map 1, you can see countries in a sandy colour: these are the countries which fascinate me the most and that I want to explore. I already travelled

3 of them since I arrived in Africa (South Africa, Botswana and Zambia). Maybe I won’t be able to do them all, for some reasons, but I don’t care about the reasons.

Oh! And what about the other countries? The ones left in white? Well, there’s nothing fixed and planned, right? It’s not because they’re white today that they’ll remain white forever

Anyway, I want to focus on where my heart beats faster and I love it!

No planned route = (maybe) Best plan.
