*I'll try to stick to the best I can!
Finally. I’m happy. Nothing’s going to stop me. I’m making my way Home. And I’m going to make it my way.
It’s been months I’m trying to find the best way and route to get to Africa…
1- The very first plan was to go back straight after being back from Botswana. By plane…until I met a couple of overlanders from Switzerland -and in the middle of their prep for Africa- who both literally convinced me to buy my own 4x4.
2- Back to France, I bought Rafiki -my today’s best-everything- and planned a route to drive to Cape Town through the West coast. Not that easy with the land borders in this part of the continent.
3- I changed my mind again: what about shipping my truck to Southern Africa? I know very reliable people there. Again, this plan didn’t reassure me very much. Many overlanders face shipment delays. Alone in the game, I didn’t feel ready to take the risk.
4- And the Middle East naturally came to my mind… I actually wonder why I didn’t think about it earlier. This IS the plan! Of course!
Soon I’ll be exploring: Italy – Slovenia – Croatia – Montenegro – Albania – Greece – Turkey – Armenia – Iran – United Arab Emirates – Saudi Arabia – Oman (I might add Qatar – Bahrain – Kuwait – I’ll go with the flow!).
To finally reach AFRICA: Kenya – Uganda – Rwanda – Tanzania – Malawi – Zimbabwe – Mozambique – South Africa – Botswana – Namibia – Angola (obv, I’ll be roaming free and planning to drive all the way up to Egypt and then adding the following countries: Zambia – DRC – Burundi – Ethiopia – Djibouti & Sudan).
Here I am. The itinerary in the pocket and my heart already on the road. I’m perfectly aware I’ll have to amend this route many times. I know it won’t be easy. But all this is what I’m now calling LIFE. Well, the life I fought to become who I’ve always been.
Dear you, welcome to my new life.
