I’ve recently crossed the border between Zambia and Tanzania. I could obtain a transit visa of 7 days -time to cross the North West part of Tanzania.
I opted for a transit visa for one main reason: to reach Rwanda on time-before the short rainy season (which occurs in October-November most of the years).
I named this new stage of the expedition: The Crossing, and the crossing is draining despite the breathtaking scenery surrounding Rafiki and I every single day.
The photos I’m sharing with you are real life backstage during an overland expedition in Africa. Dust, tiredness, hot, sweat, breaks, pain and happiness.
The Crossing is almost over and I can’t wait to finally cross the border with Rwanda.
The road from Zambia: Mbala - Zombe border post - Sumbawanga - Mpanda - Kimalapamba - Kasulu - Nabuhima - Nyakanazi - Rusumo border post
It’s around 960 km with an average speed of 30 km/h.
Happy Sunday and let’s go back on the road.
