I’m very happy to share this adventure with you. It was not very easy though. I’m a wild individual and my privacy is essential.
The more I shared it the more people I got to know, and you are fascinating. I learn every single day from you!
And since I kept my wild heart, authenticity is my rule number 1. So I’m taking the risk to share my feelings, my thoughts, my impressions, and my challenges. You can see the evolution of Rafiki, of this travel across Africa, and of my mindset.
I’m not here to waste my time telling you fairy tales but to share what I see on the road. Again, there are many things I do not film or photograph, by respect.
‘YOU TRAVEL FAST!’
1/ I do whatever I want and I go wherever I want at my own pace;
2/ I’m not traveling to please anyone but me first. I fought for this to happen. It’s maybe selfish but that’s the way it is;
3/ I rushed it in Botswana because I was traveling with a friend who only had 3 weeks to visit the country, but I could spend 2 weeks with my host family in Gabs and I was the happiest;
4/ I spent 2 amazing months in Zambia and I’ve been to places many travellers don’t go;
5/ I always said that I wanted to reach Rwanda before the short rainy season started end of September;
6/ Big news: I’m NOT rich and I’m traveling alone, the more I spend time somewhere the more I spend money and I need to be careful;
7/ I’m driving back to Southern Africa anyway! Yes, the plan has always been to drive East before the rainy season and then to make my way South again.
8/ Don’t forget that I also keep moments for myself because it’s important, and there are plenty of chill moments as well;
9/ I will keep fighting for the FREEDOM to be who I am and to always FOLLOW my heart, even if it tells me to stop sharing in here.
Thank you for those (the majority) supporting, encouraging, understanding, loving this adventure. You are my favourite strength!
