As mentioned last week Sunday, I’m currently on a break somewhere in South Africa (in real time).
Well, it’s not really a ‘break’ as I’m working my ass off whether working on Rafiki, busy planning the next part of the expedition along with my budget, writing posts, editing Youtube videos and photos, updating and re organising my website, dealing with the SEO part, nurturing my Patreon, resting (I try!), catching up with family and friends, sharing the expe on here, overthinking and negotiating hard.
Negotiating? For what? For the next part of the solo expedition. My budget is actively disappearing and it’ll be time to work again. And only Europe is apparently keen to have me back for this.
I’m going to drive back to Europe. But! My favourite option would be to drive through the Middle East (the route I was supposed to drive when I left France). I’ve always been strongly attracted by the Arabian peninsula, its Arabic culture and traditions.
I’m in contact with a few shipping companies since…5 months…(yep!) but it’s been a nightmare to get a final price and reliable information.
If I do not get concrete information at all, I will drive via the West coast of Africa instead, in order to reach Europe.
But who knows what can happen on the way? I got engaged to uncertainty and I assume it. 100%. Maybe the solo expe will last even longer. And I’ll fight for this to happen.
But for now: the solo expedition is NOT over.
My secret: to overland the world with Rafiki…
PS: everything can change again! Remember, I never have proper plan…
PS 2: a few more photos of the Sani Pass epic drive!
