Overprepared = 'Scared', 'Not Being a True Adventurer'. What Do You Think?

Updated: Aug 10, 2023

As you can see my face on this photo, I had such a great time in the mountains, here in France. I could share my passion for overlanding with passionate solo travelers. It’s been inspiring and uplifting few days I won’t forget!

I also wanted to share something with you. I read somewhere that ‘the people who over prepare and equip their vehicle to go travelling are actually people who are scared’ – and worst, not ‘real adventurers’.

I think this statement is absolutely silly for one reason: we’re all different. We have different goals, passions, trip length, etc. We shouldn't judge or compare the way others deal with their own travel preparations. This is simply called tolerance.

I think saying this is very pretentious and completely useless. And what if the preparation is an adventure itself? What if you discover a real passion in gearing up your vehicle whatever it is? What if you actually decide to go travelling longer than expected? What if you just want to limit the risks in order to enjoy the road as much as possible and maybe to go even further in any ways possible? What if we’re just all different and fundamentally free to realise our own dreams the way we want to realise them?

As much as you’re happy, go catch your dreams your own way!

What are your thoughts about this?
