My Secret Letter To Africa.

Updated: Jul 27, 2023

Dear Africa, I had to write you this letter tonight. Because…

…They think you’re small, Whereas you’re powerful. They think you’re naïve, While you’re just playing cool. They want to impose their ‘own evolution’, While the present moment is your DNA. They want to ‘show you the way’, While they hope you get lost. And they think they could teach you, While you host the world’s oldest civilization. One day you’re Motherland, But most of the time they don’t listen to you. They think they know you, But they sabotage your image. They want to protect you, And they destroy you. You are too black, And sometimes too white. They say you’re too dangerous, While they create hate on your soil. They want your independence, While they possess you. They say you look messy, But they hate your fancy buildings. They say you are too poor, But they don’t want to see you rich. Your roads are too challenging, And sometimes way too tarred. They want to save you, While they drag you down. They want to integrate you, But they keep fooling you. They drain your resources, And make you feel guilty. They brought their currency, To weaken your society. They poach your wildlife, And they can’t stop blaming you. They say your tribal communities too commercial, But they created this system. They keep underestimating you, While you can save them.

Hopefully, one day, soon enough, they will understand.
