In Real Time: Worried, Rested, Recalibrated; Let's Cross A New Border Soon!

Updated: Jul 27, 2023

A week ago, I told you about the incredible post-trauma therapist -Brigitte- I met in Namibia. Thanks to the TRE exercises we did together, my body managed to release stress, tension, and traumas it has accumulated since a month and a half.

But even if my body has been positively reactive to the TRE, it’s extremely tiring. Brigitte warned me about the ‘side effects’ and that I will have to be caring, kind, and smooth with myself for a little while; time for the body and mind to recalibrate properly. The past week was intense but very slow. I forced myself to drink as much water as I could, and I laid down most of the days -and this never happened to me before.

I was very worried the first day, but Brigitte kept reassuring me since the brain needs some time to process. Taking the time and being patient are not my best qualities but since I do not want traumas to be stored in my cells, I must stop. No choice. And I did.

And after 2 days, I got back on the road for a quick ‘test’ and I was off to the coast, in Luderitz. The ocean breeze calmed me even more and I could feel recalibrated after 72 hours.

I left the coast 2 days ago, back with my Namibian ‘family’. I’m back in my body, I exercise again, I sing, I keep joking (my favourite activity), I’m hyperactive again, I feel creative, I feel me!

My ideas get clearer even if the past events have shaped the near future of the expedition differently. I’ve got many things to tell you and I’m excited about it.

FYI, I’m still in Namibia and I’ll be soon on my way to…South Africa!

Guys, I’m back.

PS: if you ever look for a good and reliable therapist, feel free to message me so I can give you Brigitte’s details!
