Such an expedition requires careful preparation. I’m going to travel with my own car and I find it essential to organise such a long overland journey. For instance, I wanted my truck to be ready to hit all types of roads and environments, and for a long period of time.
Today, Rafiki is an overland pick-up truck and ready for the expedition.
But this expedition I’m talking about is a ‘solo’ expedition, which means I’m the only one preparing, planning, organising, thinking, overthinking, again and again. I absolutely loved the whole prepping from A to Z. The adrenalin is such a great thing actually: you can barely sleep, you have almost no time to eat, you work all day, all night, and you feel great. Since February 2021 I had one thing in mind: GOING TO AFRICA.
Adrenalin is awesome until your body betrays you. I so wanted to go that I completely ignored my own health. When my Italian family saw me they seemed worried. I realised my body was completely empty and urgently needed to rest.
I slept 10 hours per night, I ate delicious meals full of veggies and pasta (of course!), I exercised, I read and I started to meditate. I feel so much better today: energised and re aligned with my solo adventure.
I’m a wild and extremely sensitive person and I need to protect me. I cannot reply quickly to about 200 messages a day anymore. This expedition requires great dedication and commitments. I absolutely need to stay who I truly am and to express my strong wild side. This expedition is a dream coming true -which I’m happy to share here- and I want to live with AUTHENTICITY.
I’ll be back on the road tomorrow morning, I can’t wait, and my body as well!
