Getting Rafiki Ready For A Brand New SetUp

The past two weeks have been…unexpected, that’s the word.

I would have never believed seeing me getting ready to hit the road again so soon. Never.

I got back from my solo expedition last May; 4.5 months ago.

I don’t have the right to complain, especially today in such horrible times for the world, but I will always remember those 4.5 months. And not for beautiful reasons.

I got back to France to get my carnet de passage refunded because I couldn’t afford traveling anymore. And to be honest, I still have a loan which is helping me a lot now. So, for those thinking I’m rich, stop dreaming. But I don’t blame you. So many fake stories on these social media that it’s hard to differentiate truth from lies.

Anyway. As explained already I want to take the risk to go back on the road very soon, within a couple of months. I’m in the sh*t so let’s go. The less choice the better.

I want to grab the opportunity of getting my Rafiki  my Toyota Hilux) completely modified thanks to crazy humans who care about crazy humans. Yes, I’m talking about you again at @genesisimport.de

What a coincidence. I was busy digesting the most transcendental experience of my life through a ‘movie’ I made about it, when these guys contacted me.

I will never forget the ‘Charline, we like what you’re doing and we want to be part of your next adventure because we know people like you won’t be able to settle down’.

Wow. They nailed it.

I will never reckon that Rafiki got back to France, but he left me somewhere between the Middle East and Africa. Somewhere, I wish to go back physically as soon as possible.

I need to move my *ss now.

So I spent the last few days emptying the load bed, getting rid of the old home made setup I drew and built with a tool I will try my best to keep: my heart. (The same tool I used to draw the itinerary too.)

I got emotional and I still am while typing this post spontaneously.

I went through all my stuff I stored during the expedition and had to make decisions. Rafiki will be heavier so I need to compensate.

Thank you also to these legends: @alucab_official & @tailgategear.eu

Can’t wait to see the result!
