And the answer is: YES!
Of course, this answer is based on my own experience in Southern and Eastern Africa. I never ever had to fill the jerrycans yet (I’ve got 3 in total: 3x20L).
The main tank is a 80L for an average of 800km. Of course the fuel consumption depends on many factors like the type of terrain (tarmac, gravel, mud, sand, etc) and weather conditions.
Also, remember my golden rule: I always keep a 1/4 tank of gas. Why? To protect the pump and the filter. The fuel is not so great quality here in Africa so better to keep the shit at the bottom.
And I can find gas stations literally anywhere so no need to worry too much about it. Then, you always have good app like ioverlander (and Google maps!) to show you nearest gas stations or gas stations on the route you’re about to take.
I never had an issue with the fuel so far or whatever. Rafiki keeps rocking man!
