First Days Wild Camping In The Middle East

Finally reunited with my Rafiki (my Toyota Hilux for the new humans in here), I decided to get back on the road!

And I had a smooth transition back to wild camping, I have to admit. I spent my first night of the expedition with Shaun and Aunt, and the second one with a German solo overlander Felix. And both nights at the ‘African spot’, here in the spectacular UAE.

But I couldn’t wait to be on my own again. I was actually very impatient. I love to be with people sharing the same passions: overlanding, 4x4ing, and exploration. And especially people who become family. But I need to be on my own, I crave this freedom of actions so much. It became absolutely essential for my mental health.

As you could see it, the only people I traveled with (on and off though) were Matt & Lucie -the bikers- when I was in Namibia for a month. Since then, I run away when I see travelers or overlanders… not because I don’t like them, but because I just need to be on my own -or with the locals.

And the more I spend time on my own, the more I need to be on my own. This is going to become a problem, especially when I’ll be back to work… I’m very worried about this matter, but I don’t wanna think about this now.

Anyway, my relationship with humans becomes very strange. And when I keep receiving messages like ‘are you not bored?, ‘don’t you feel lonely?’, come into my head and you will get your answers. Very clear (haha).

But life is unpredictable. Who knows how long this desire is going to last?

In the meantime: welcome to the solo expedition across the Middle East!
