Earlier I was looking at the photos I recently shared with you and I noticed that Rafiki completely disappeared behind the Namibian dunes.
So tonight, it’s time to honor the truck which made it all possible so far.
I bought Rafiki in February 2021 with the money I saved the past years. Since then, I’ve been dreaming it, drawing it and drafting it probably a thousand times.

I geared it up, I gave it a name (RAFIKI: ‘my friend’ in Swahili and ‘companion’ in Arabic), some stickers, I build its load bed setup inside, and I created an indestructible bond with the Hilux.

Today, I have got the feeling that Rafiki has a personality and I’m always touched by the way people consider this 4x4; and especially kids who’ve been drawing it and ‘dreaming’ to see it in real one day…

Rafiki is more than a car, you know that. It became my tool to explore Africa, my mobile Home and my protector.
AND in real time: I’ve reached Johannesburg since a few days now…where Rafiki is about to change its look…big change is coming (fingers crossed!).
