Let’s be factual and let’s stop beating around the bush. My main goal sharing the expedition with you is to share my thoughts and discoveries along the way but also to give you proper info if you fancy such an expedition one day.
Almost 22 months on the road, alone, with my car Rafiki. If you follow the expedition since a while, you know that such an adventure brings its share of challenges. Even though I always consider challenges as positive, it can be extremely worrying at times.
Since January 2022, I drove more than 45K km, mainly off the grid. Cool right? But it’s a risky bet as well. And when there are risks involved you need to be wise. Why? Simply because I don’t want the adventure of my life to end due to a silly incident I could anticipate / solve.
One of the first admin things I focused on when I was preparing the solo expe, was a health insurance. Along with the CPD for Rafiki, I HAD to take enough precautions for me as well.
I always got covered since the beginning and I had to renew it. 6 weeks now I was desperately looking for an insurance that would accept to sponsor me. Let’s be honest. An international health insurance (with French insurers) is around 600€ /year for my type of travel.
A few days ago, SantExpat.fr (@santexpatfr) accepted to help me to get covered internationally for the last 5 months of the solo expe (through the Middle East).
They literally relieved my mind so much since I got back on the road (talking in real times and less and less signal btw) and that the Middle East is already quite challenging (unbearable heat, off-road constantly, extreme remote places, wild camp only). Africa starts to look way more easier now.
This post might look like these sponsored and fake posts whatever, but these guys really helped me BIG.
If it’s not risky you don’t live it, yes, but wisely.
PS: some of you ask me about this. Santexpat.fr insures any nationalities and wherever you are on the Planet.
