A Precise Explanation Of The Route So Far (In Real Times)

Writer's picture: Charline RibottaCharline Ribotta

In real times, I have arrived in the Middle East end of September, and Rafiki early October.

We both arrived in Dubai, UAE, because the maritime route was the cheapest and more convenient regarding the shipping of my Toyota Hilux.

End of October, I crossed the border into Oman, where I spent 2 months in total. End of December, my friend Charlotte flew to Salalah (Oman) and joined me for 3 weeks.

I had to make it to Dubai again -for many reasons- early January. Charlotte flew back to the UK while I decided to drive to Saudi Arabia to attend the Dakar Rally 2024.

Since the 8th of January, I’m now exploring Saudi Arabia, my favourite GCC country so far!

Again: why am I posting with delays? For 2 -obvious- reasons.

1/ safety reasons (even if the Middle East is probably the safest region of the world, I’m still a human traveling alone);

2/ I’ve got so much to share with you that I cannot sum up in 15 sec stories. It wouldn’t honour the extraordinary Arabian Peninsula overland adventure.

Otherwise, I’ve got a 3-month visa for Saudi and I want to make the most of it.
