A Few Photos Of The Crossing Through The Hajar Mountains

I still have so much to share with you that I never know what to post. Tonight, I feel like posting about one of my favourite routes since I left Africa: that drive through one of the highest mountain range in the Arabian Peninsula.

This epic drive reminds me of the Sani Pass between South Africa and Lesotho, even though even more spectacular and definitely technical.

Regarding the technical part when driving on such steep and narrow gravel roads: please note that I never use the brakes but low range (w/ 4WD obviously). Many of you asked me how my brakes were feeling after the drive, please never use yours when driving downhill and so steep!

Also, I deflate a bit for more grips and…let’s the fun begins! Again, Rafiki didn’t disappoint me and made me proud of its capabilities one more time!

Oh! I want to know something: what 4x4 do you drive? Or what would be your ideal one if considering an overland expedition? I’m curious about it.
