48 Days Without Rafiki: My Bakkie Has Arrived In Africa!

What an experience! I remember that day of the 25th of March when I dropped Rafiki at the ferry terminal in Hamburg. I was surprisingly confident and I so wanted to trust the process since the very beginning (and despite so many bad experiences I heard and read literally everywhere). It didn’t matter, I had no choice if I wanted to be roaming in Africa this year.

The vessel left Hamburg on the 5th of April and I could track its position on vesselfinder.com every single day. The estimated arrival day has been set up for the 5th of May: Rafiki arrived on the 7th and I could collect it 3 days later.

When I arrived at the warehouse on Tuesday morning, I saw this Rhino blue container waiting by the entrance. My heart skipped a beat and my eyes instantly filled with tears. ‘I cannot believe it’, I kept saying this a hundred times maybe.

We could finally open the container and I saw my Rafiki. I missed it so much. So. Very. Much. Rafiki was clean, no damage and nothing has been stolen.

The customs didn’t even check what I was carrying inside the Hilux, they gave me my Carnet de Passage stamped, and I could drive through CT less than 1 hour later.

Thank you so much @caravanshippers ! I will definitely recommend you.

Now, I’m busy having a dream to realise
